Overview Specifications Documents Background About the C6 Chevrolet Corvette The C6 generation tightened the Corvette's dimensions, brought back exposed headlights for the first time since 1962 and steadily added power. Base cars moved from the 400-horsepower 6.0-liter LS2 to the 430-horsepower 6.2-liter LS3 for 2008. The Z06, sold from 2006, used an aluminum frame and the 7.0-liter, 505-horsepower LS7. The ZR1, from 2009, added a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 with 638 horsepower, carbon-ceramic brakes and carbon-fiber body panels. The Grand Sport and the 2013 427 Convertible filled the gaps between them.
