1936 Pontiac Silver Streak Coupe // Viper V10 // 6-Speed Manual // Chopped Top // Full Custom Build And before we talk about the car, we've got to give the man his flowers. Vinnie is a badass collector. He's been a friend of the dealership, he's owned some seriously special cars over the years, and the best thing about his collection is that it's never boring. Anybody can fill a garage with the obvious stuff. Vinnie somehow finds the cars that make you stop, stare, and ask: “What the hell is THAT?” And guys... This might be one of the best examples yet. A 1936 Pontiac Silver Streak Coupe with a chopped roof, custom chassis, fully independent suspension and a freaking Gen II Viper V10 connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. VINNIE... YOU'RE A MADMAN. And we mean that with the utmost respect. This is old-school American hot-rodding turned all the way up. Under that massive hood sits a fuel-injected aluminum 8.0-liter / 488 cubic-inch Gen II Viper V10. But this wasn't simply an engine swap. The entire car was built around the concept. Underneath is a custom frame featuring Heidts fully independent suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The cooling system was relocated to the rear with a rear-mounted radiator, twin electric fans and a custom shroud. Then look at the body. Chopped top. All-steel construction. That beautiful paint and custom steel bodywork were completed by Tim Sturgis of Wyman's Auto Body It sits exactly how a hot rod should. Low. Long. Mean. Then you open the door and realize they didn't forget about the interior. There's a beautifully finished custom cabin with an engine-turned dash, suede headliner, power windows and air conditioning. A beautiful pre-war Pontiac with enough modern amenities to actually enjoy it... And enough Viper motor under the hood to make absolutely no sense whatsoever. This is why we love cars. And frankly, this is why we love dealing with collectors like Vinnie. The guy doesn't just collect cars. He collects stories. And we can promise you one thing... Nobody is walking past this Pontiac at Cars & Coffee.
