The second-generation Viper added the GTS coupe, with its double-bubble roof, alongside the RT/10 roadster and made the car easier to live with: roll-up windows, exterior door handles, airbags and, late in the run, ABS. The 8.0-liter V10 was lightened and uprated to 450 horsepower in the GTS, still with a six-speed manual only. The GTS-R racing version won its class at Le Mans three years running, from 1998 to 2000.
