The second-generation Cayenne was lighter and more road-focused than the first, dropping the low-range transfer case and adding an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic and a more car-like interior. Engines ranged from a 3.6-liter V6 through the V8 S and GTS to the twin-turbocharged Turbo, with diesel and hybrid versions as well. A 2015 update replaced the naturally aspirated V8s in the S and GTS with twin-turbocharged V6s.
