The fourth-generation Camaro was the sleekest yet, with a 5.7-liter small-block V8 in the Z28: the LT1 through 1997 and the all-aluminum LS1 from 1998. SS models, built with SLP Engineering, added a functional hood scoop, more power and suspension upgrades. 1997 marked the Camaro's 30th anniversary with white-and-orange cars that echoed the 1969 Indianapolis pace car. A six-speed manual was available throughout, and the cars remain an affordable way into V8, rear-drive performance.
