Overview Specifications Documents Background About the 991-generation Porsche 911 The 991 was only the third all-new platform in the 911's history: a longer wheelbase, a wider front track, more aluminum in the body and electric power steering. Cars through 2016 have naturally aspirated flat-sixes, 3.4 liters in the Carrera and 3.8 in the S, with a seven-speed manual or PDK. For 2017 the Carrera range moved to twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engines. Carrera 4 models add all-wheel drive and wider rear bodywork.
