The 718 generation renamed the Cayman for 2017 and replaced its flat-six with turbocharged flat-four engines: a 2.0-liter with 300 horsepower in the base car and a 2.5-liter with 350 in the S. The chassis was retuned at the same time, and the mid-engine balance that defines the Cayman carried over. Six-cylinder power later returned in the GTS 4.0 and GT4. A six-speed manual and the PDK dual-clutch are both offered.
